O-MAST Meets with Port Director McKenney

On Thursday, April 3, O-MAST had the pleasure of meeting with Port of Oakland Executive Director Kristi McKenney to discuss O-MAST’s key priorities and 2025 initiatives.

Leaders representing maritime, trucking, logistics, and labor came together to engage with Director McKenney and the Port’s government affairs team to discuss how O-MAST can collaborate with the Port to advance Oakland’s working waterfront, particularly at a time when federal infrastructure dollars are increasingly hard to come by.

O-MAST leadership also announced an exciting upcoming special event to celebrate Oakland’s working waterfront and the Port’s contributions to the city: Maritime Night at the Oakland Ballers’ field at Raimondi Park! Mark your calendars for Thursday, August 7 at 6:35 PM and reach out to [email protected] for information on discounted tickets for Port stakeholders.

O-MAST Holds Special Election Candidate Forum

On Tuesday, February 25, O-MAST hosted an Oakland Special Election Candidate Forum in partnership with MEBA and the ILWU, offering Port stakeholders an important opportunity to engage with and hear from Mayoral and District 2 City Council candidates running in the April 2025 Special Election.

Candidates spoke on how they would prioritize industrial lands, advocate for Port jobs and operations, and work with Port stakeholders to ensure their voices are heard.

The City of Oakland requires leadership that understands the symbiotic relationship between the City and the Port and its tenants, and we look forward to working with the next Mayor and District 2 Councilperson to advance the Port’s interests.
